Amar Singh Chamkila - Here's when the trailer for Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra's Imtiaz Ali musical will be out

Since Amar Singh Chamkila, the newest directorial marvel from Imtiaz Ali, was announced by Netflix India, the excitement is sky high. The film, starring Diljit Dosanjh in the titular role, is set for its Netflix premiere in April. Amar Singh Chamkila will unveil its trailer on March 28, 2024, ahead of its big release on the OTT platform. Interestingly, the trailer will be dropped only 15 days ahead of the Netflix premiere of the film, which also stars Parineeti Chopra as Amarjot, Chamkila's wife and singing partner. The film, which is based on true events, will take viewers on a journey through the pulsating and rhythmic world of folk music in Punjab, all the way to the humble Akhadaas (village concerts), where Chamkila's voice once sounded thunderous.

The journey of Punjab's original rockstar

The film chronicles the unsung true story of Amar Singh Chamkila, the original rockstar of Punjab and the highest-selling musician of his day, often referred to as the "Elvis Presley of Punjab." Until now, audiences have had the opportunity to experience the enchantment of an AR Rahman-Imtiaz Ali-Irshad Kamil collaboration.
