Amar Sangi: When and where to watch Neel Bhattacharya and Shyamoupti Mudly’s love story

Zee Bangla is all set to launch its latest mega serial Amar Sangi. It has been reported that Neel Bhattacharya will team up with Shyamoupti Mudly in the serial. Produced by NIDEAS Creations and Productions, Amar Sangi’s promo offers to take the viewers on a journey of love.  

However, the serial will not air in prime time. It is slotted at 2:30 pm. According to the channel, this serial is strategically scheduled to provide fresh, original content to the dedicated afternoon viewers, ensuring they have an enriching entertainment experience instead of the usual repeats seen on other channels.

The title of the serial pays tribute to Prosenjit Chatterjee’s superhit eponymous film that was released in 1987. Prosenjit, now the producer of the serial, said, “The film which redefined my career way back in 1987 was ‘Amar Sangi’. It gives me immense pleasure now to produce a new serial with the same title for Zee Bangla. This story is indeed impactful and has various shades to it. It also acknowledges the enduring power of love which triumphs over various obstacles the couple faces in life.” 

Amar Sangi narrates the journey of Raj played by Neel Bhattacharya and Shree played by Shyamoupti Mudly, as they navigate financial challenges and societal expectations while rediscovering their love. Raj is a charismatic, optimistic, and idealistic dreamer awaiting his big break, struggling with economic realities and family expectations. Shree is grounded, practical, and hardworking, holding multiple jobs to support her family while balancing Raj’s idealism. Their paths intertwine, leading to a rapid love story and marriage despite conflicting family expectations. Financial success brings ego clashes and misunderstandings, testing their love. Set against the backdrop of urban Kolkata, the story blends warmth, struggle, and resilience, highlighting the pressure of societal expectations and the balance between love and ambition.

Directed by Tamaal Maityy, Amar Sangi will be available from August 12, Monday to Saturday at 2.30 pm on Zee Bangla. It will stream on Zee5 and will be available on OTTplay Premium.
