It has been quite some time since Allu Sirish gave a hit in his career. His career is yet to take off in the first place and Sirish pinned all his hopes on his latest film Buddy which was released on August 2, 2024, and ended as a disaster at the box office.
The sad part is that Buddy did not even fare during its first weekend and was out of theaters in just three days. Well, we at OTTplay have already reported that Netflix has bought the digital rights to the film. Now, the news is Buddy is streaming on Netflix and not many are even aware of it as the response is quite dull.
Not one is speaking about the film on social media. Sam Anton directed the film which is the remake of the Tamil film, Teddy. The makers just made a few changes and released the film in Telugu. Gayatri Bharadwaj played the female lead in this film which also had seasoned comedian Ali in a key role.
Buddy was also postponed twice and finally hit the screens on August 2, 2024. This is where the audience lost interest in the film and when Buddy came out, the crime comedy was trolled big time by the audience for its silly narration and horrible making.
Allu Sirish has been in the industry for a long time but sadly, he has yet to find a footing in the industry. His star producer dad and superstar brother, Allu Arjun are also not making things work for him is the general feeling. Sirish needs to do more films to bring him back into the game.
We need to see what Sirish does in the days to come. His performance in Buddy has been appreciated but the film in general was a mess. Now that Buddy is streaming on Netflix, we need to see if the film has any takers for it or not. Watch this space for more updates.
