Telugu superstar Allu Arjun is overjoyed after being named the Best Actor' at the 69th National Film Awards. The announcement of the winners of the awards was made on Thursday in Delhi. And Allu Arjun scripted history by becoming the first Telugu actor to win this top honour. 

In this edition, Telugu movies bagged as many as 10 awards in different categories, which reflects the growing influence of Telugu cinema across the country. Reacting to the historic haul of the Telugu cinema at the prestigious awards, Allu revealed, "Beaming high with Pride as our Telugu cinema shines nation wide!" 

He also took the opportunity to congratulate all the other winners of the coveted awards. "A huge congratulations to all the national award winners across various categories and languages throughout the nation. Your accomplishments are truly commendable . & I would like to express my gratitude for the love and wishes pouring in from all corners of the country. Feeling honored and humbled by it all. Thank you for the love . Humbled," he added. 

Congratulations are pouring in from all corners for Allu Arjun for this historic win. The jury selected the Telugu superstar for his performance in director Sukumar's blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. 

Allu Arjun, who is known as 'Stylish Star' in Telugu cinema, deglamorized himself to step into the shoes of Pushpa Raj. The movie tells the story of the ambitious Pushpa, who is discriminated against owing to his social and financial background. However, he rebels against all the discrimination by getting involved with a crime syndicate and soon rises through its ranks. 

Just when Pushpa is at the peak of his power, his ego gets a reality check from a highly-prejudiced cop, played by Fahadh Faasil. And the movie ends on a massive cliffhanger. The production of the second part is going on in full swing and the movie is expected to arrive in cinemas in March next year.
