Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule has been surrounded by a gamut of headlines that follow no single nature. The movie is equally enjoying a monstrous box office haul and a controversial soul both at the same time. Allu has in a span of few hours in Friday been arrested, ordered to 14-day custody, and given bail. This was after his arrival caused a stampede in a theatre named Sandhya in Hyderabad. A woman named Revathi lost her life and her son who is 8 years old was left in a critical stage and was brought to the hospital after he suffered asphyxiation. It is a state where the oxygen stops reaching to the brain. Turns out the boy named Sri Teja is still not completely out of danger and is on life support as per the confirmation from the hospital.
For the uninitiated, 35-year-old woman, Revathi, lost her life in a stampede that was triggered after Allu Arjun visited Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during the screening of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule. However, her 8-year-old son Sri Teja was also present at the venue where the mishap happened and suffered asphyxiation. Sri has been in a critical state ever since. Allu Arjun later announced financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh for the deceased's family. He had even assured the family that he would meet them personally and promised that he will cover Sri’s medical expenses.
Sri Teja is still in the hospital and it looks like his road to recovery is not an easy one. The boy is in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and is still on ventilator support. While he needs minimal requirements he has an intermittent fever and is still in an altered sensorium. This means Sri is yet to gain complete consciousness.
As per Hindu, the hospital released a statement that read, “The boy continues to be in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) on ventilator support with minimal requirements. He is hemodynamically stable and tolerates tube feedings. However, he has intermittent fever, remains in an altered sensorium, and exhibits dystonic movements.”
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun at the Pushpa 2 success meet recently had reacted on the row. He said, "The incident that took place in the Sandhya Theatre is very unfortunate... I'm shocked. It took me hours to process it and respond to the incident. I couldn't process it psychologically—it took me around 10 hours. We all blanked out when we heard the news. Sukumar sir also got extremely emotional. I will personally meet them later. We will always be there and try to support the family."
