The trailer for the new South Korean show on Netflix, titled "All of Us Are Dead," is out. The K-Drama falls under the horror-mystery-thriller genre and is about a high school that is turned into the epicentre of a zombie virus outbreak. Students that are trapped must fight their way out or risk becoming rabidly afflicted. A group of teenagers locked up at a high school find themselves in perilous situations as they try to save their school from a zombie invasion.
Lee Jae-Kyu and Kim Nam-soo have directed the series, while the episodic writer is Chun Sung-il. All Of Us Are Dead features Park Ji-hoo, Yoon Chan-young, Jo Yi-hyun, Lomon, and Yoo In-soo in the lead roles.
With live-action adaptations of webtoons currently hot, all eyes are on All of Us Are Dead, which is based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name by webtoon creator Joo Dong-geun and follows a group of students imprisoned in school amid a zombie apocalypse.
Because of the environment, director Lee Jae-Kyu was drawn to direct this adaptation. In a statement, he explained that there is a lot of zombie series, but what drew him to All of Us Are Dead was the fact that everything takes place in a limited setting, a school, with young and immature students.
While fans regard the webtoon, which ran from 2009 to 2011, as legendary, Lee isn't exactly adhering to the script, implying that the characters are still based on the webtoon but their personalities have evolved slightly.
He continued, saying that when these disparate personalities get together and interact with one another, different relationships emerge. While further explaining, Lee said that the origin of the infection, the characters, how these kids escape the zombie predicament, and the government's policies are all differences between the original webtoon and the series.
On January 28, 2022, All of Us Are Dead will be released on Netflix.
