Today was the day when the prestigious National Awards were declared. It was done at a grand event which was held in Delhi. There were many celebrities who had attended from different parts of India. As for Bollywood, there were a whole bunch of actors, who had attended the grand event. Speaking of Alia Bhatt, she won the ‘Best Actress’ award for her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi, which was directed by the prolific filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. When her name was announced as the winner of the ‘Best Actress’, Alia Bhatt went up on stage and collected her award with her face full of gratitude.

The film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ saw Alia Bhatt in the titular role. Besides her, there were an array of stellar performers like Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa, Jim Sarbh and Ajay Devgn… all of them in important roles. On the professional front, Alia Bhatt is bust with the shooting of her upcoming film ‘Jigra’, about whom she had described as 'a beautiful story of courage, passion, and determination'. This film also marks the collaboration between Alia's home banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
