Alia Bhatt’s rise to stardom and success has been a journey we’ve all witnessed and enjoyed over the past decade. The actor, who is currently gearing up for the release of her latest film Jigra, which also stars Vedang Raina alongside her, has delivered some very interesting films in recent years. She has two massive projects lined up: one is a drama directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali titled Love And War, and the other is a new spy film in the YRF Spy Universe called Alpha. While she is deeply immersed in both, currently shooting for Alpha and dedicating bulk dates to SLB’s magnum opus, Alia has now found another intriguing script, which will serve as a breather amidst her lineup of large-scale projects. According to reports, Alia will be starring in a love story after completing Alpha and Love And War.

Yes, according to the latest reports from Pinkvilla, Alia Bhatt has been considering several scripts in the romance genre. The report suggests that she has found one that she is particularly excited about and plans to both produce and star in it. The script is said to be an out-and-out love story, and she aims to begin work on it as soon as she wraps up Love And War.
A source close to the development shared with the portal: “Alia has identified a script for her next after Love And War, and she is looking to produce and act in the film. It’s an out-and-out love story, and Alia’s heart is set on this script at the moment.” The movie is expected to go on floors in the last quarter of 2025, after Alia has finished shooting Love And War, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. The source also hinted that the film could be directed by a filmmaker who delivered a Rs 200 crore-grossing film in 2022.
About the Schedule
“There have been multiple rounds of meetings, and the conversations are moving in the right direction. The film is still a year away from going on floors, so there’s a possibility that Alia might reconsider if something better comes along. But as things stand right now, the love story is locked as Alia’s next project for 2026,” the source added.
The search for the male lead will begin in January 2025, with the makers aiming to cast a top actor. “The entire casting process will begin once the paperwork is completed, and the stakeholders are committed to starting the film by the end of 2025,” the source concluded.
Jigra is set to hit theaters on October 11, 2024. Alpha is slated for a late 2025 release, followed by Love And War, which has now been pushed to March 20, 2026.
