Alia Bhatt was recently seen in Vasan Bala’s Jigra. The film, which also stars Vedang Raina was a box office flop. It now seems that the actress is ready for a big jump in her career as she might be ready for her first out-and-out pan-India film. She was earlier part of Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer RRR in a cameo appearance but this time she is set for a full-fledged role. Read on to know all the details about her next big project!
Alia Bhatt to headline Nag Ashwin’s next?
According to a report by Mid-Day, Alia Bhatt is in talks with Kalki 2898 AD fame director Nag Ashwin for a female-led film. The yet-untitled project is a magnum opus and is bankrolled by the Hyderabad-based production house, Vyjayanthi Films.
The portal quoted a source as saying, “Ashwin has crafted a script focused on a powerful female lead—a character that demands emotional intensity and depth which is tailor-made for Alia. While the storyline remains a closely guarded secret, the narrative would tackle themes of personal resilience and empowerment in a unique, contemporary setting.”
Alia Bhatt’s Projects
Alia was recently seen in Jigra, also starring Vedang Raina. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film did not do well at the box office. It was co-produced by Karan Johar along with Alia under the banner of her production house Eternal Sunshine Productions. The film is written by Debashish Irengbam and Vasan Bala.
The actress is now busy with two upcoming big projects - Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love And War, also starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal as well as YRF Spy Universe film Alpha, also starring Sharvari. While Bhansali's film is a love story, Alia will be seen as a super-agent in Alpha, the first female-led movie from YRF Spy Universe. The film is directed by Shiv Rawail.
