Alia Bhatt: Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan is possibly the biggest blockbuster of Indian cinema

Actress Alia Bhatt found her name attached to one of the biggest Hindi blockbusters of 2022, through her role in Ayan Mukherji’s Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva. The actress’ first release of the past year, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi had also become a box office hit as well. The actress recently shared her thoughts on the record breaking box office success witnessed by Shah Rukh Khan’s latest release, Pathan.

Alia, along with Varun Dhawan, recently attended a press conference for an upcoming award show. Alia said, "Every film should break a film’s record. I am very happy about that. A film like Pathaan is not just a blockbuster but possibly the biggest blockbuster of Indian cinema."

She feels grateful for such positive responses coming from the audience and she prays that it will happen every time a film is released. Varun and Alia have delivered some superhit films including - Student of the Year, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.

Alia was also asked if she looks at the success as a fitting answer to the haters who are constantly spreading the trend of #boycoyyBollywood.

The actress replied, "I don’t think we have so much aggression in us like that. We are very grateful to be working and living our dream on a day–to–day basis."

She feels that as actors and entertainers they belong to the audience and the audience has the right to say whatever they feel about a film.

Alia will next be seen in the romantic comedy film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani which is starring Ranveer Singh. Directed by Karan Johar, the film also features Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi among some of the veteran actors. The film is slated to release on July 28, and marks the second collaboration of Ranveer and Alia after 2019’s Gully Boy.
