Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh praise Karan Johar at Delhi event, call Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani as ‘one of Karan's most humourous films’

Drums rolling! Superstars Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh arrived in Delhi today to launch Ve Kamleya – a romantic song from their upcoming movie Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. At the song launch event, both the superstars heaped praise on filmmaker Karan Johar who is the force behind the creation of the film.

At the event held in a Delhi hotel, Alia Bhatt quickly answered a question by paps asking about her experience of working in the latest Karan Johar film. The 30-year-old said, “Before I come on the set, Karan and Ranveer usually indulged in an intense discussion about their looks. Even before the shooting of the scene commences, there is a whole breakdown. Ranveer observes Karan’s shooting style, and his clothes and there is a whole artistic process backstage. I’ve never seen such great work on any other set. They have a great appreciation for each other’s style that is very special to them.”

Replying to Alia’s comment, actor Ranveer Singh adds, “She’s absolutely right! Yeh toh hota hai! This is how we used to start shooting every day on the set. If you had observed on (chat show) Koffee with Karan’s latest season, Karan and I are two individuals jinke andar ek Dilli ki aunty hai. Once our conversations get over, it is then when we start shooting for the film.”

Alia further detailed about the shooting process on the set of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. “Karan, Ranveer and I are very instinctive. We like to go with the flow. We like to be surprised. We don’t want to over-rehearse. We live in the moment. We used to have fun on the set as well. We work to our 100% and put our best foot forward always. The energy on the set was always very vibrant, and nothing apologetically serious ever happened.”

Bollywood star Ranveer Singh even goes on to mention that Karan Johar feels that this project is one of the most humourous films he has created so far. He says, “In Karan’s own words, this is one of his most humourous films. So, there is a generous amount of humour in the first and second half of the film. We worked with a very young crew and Karan himself is a born entertainer. He often cracks jokes. I used to wake up every morning and feel enthusiastic about working on the set. As Alia and I believe, it’s like a bunch of friends coming together for a movie. We hope that you like it and laugh a lot.”

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani will be out theatrically on July 28.
