Vasan Bala will be directing Alia Bhatt's upcoming movie, Jigra, which she announced earlier this week. The film marks the collaboration between Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Alia's home banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions. This will be her second outing as a producer after her 2022 Netflix hit, Darlings. Alia has now shared her excitement for the film during a recent interaction.

Perspective on storytelling and production:

During an interaction with Film Companion, the actor stated that her view is that stories are integral to the human experience. With Eternal Sunshine, Alia took on the role of producer so that she could share stories like this with the world. The response to Darlings, their first movie, was both thrilling and overwhelming.

Excitement and insight into Jigra:

The Gangubai Kathiawadi actor went on to say that Jigra, a stunning tale of bravery, passion, and tenacity, is their second production, and it has been in the works for little over a year. Alia's goal is to always bring back stories that are both genuine and ageless and to collaborate with talented artists to bring such stories to life.

Quoting on GK Chesterton

While making the announcement, the makers dropped a quote by GK Chesterton stating, "The paradox of courage is that one must be a little careless with life in order to keep it."

After then, Alia can be seen in the video walking around on the streets of what seems like Japan with a bag slung over her shoulder. The actor's voice may be heard in the background, telling her youngest sibling that she will keep them safe.

The film is set for a 2024 release.

Recent Work:

Meanwhile, Alia was last seen in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, opposite Ranveer Singh. The film was declared a blockbuster at the box office and also starred Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles.
