Jigra starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina is aiming for an October 2024 release. After the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) certified the film's teaser with a ‘UA’ rating, the latest report suggested that the teaser will be out on September 8. The report also stated why the actress chose this date.
As per a Filmfare report, the teaser of Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina's Jigra will be released on September 8.
It further mentioned that the actress chose this date as number 8 is lucky for her and her husband Ranbir Kapoor.
Eternal Sunshine Productions took to their Instagram account and dropped a new video of the upcoming film Jigra on September 5.
In the clip, Alia is holding a piece of paper where a boy's and a girl's sketches are printed. She gets protective of her little brother Vedang in the clip. In the background, Bhatt can be heard saying, "Tujhe mein kuch bhi hone nahi dungi, kabhi bhi…”
Sharing the video, the production house captioned it with the same dialogue and asked the fans to stay tuned.
On September 5, two official posters were revealed starring the lead actors. Alia holds a hammer and a sharp weapon in one hand and her intense look is the proof she can do anything to protect her little brother. On the other hand, another poster shows Vedang with scars while the Raazi actress hides her face carrying a heavy backpack.
In an earlier interview with Forbes, Alia described the film as different from the projects she had worked on earlier.
The actress recalled signing the project after she gave birth to her daughter Raha Kapoor and said, "At the time I signed Jigra, it was just after I had given birth, a couple of months, like 4 months, so I was feeling very protective. Something about me was feeling… like I was just in Tiger’s mode wanting to protect my cub. So Jigra is all about protecting your loved ones."
Meanwhile, produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions, Vasan Bala's directorial Jigra will hit theaters on October 11, 2024.
