Ali Wong, who maybe better known as the award-winning actress from the black comedy series Beef about the chaos two strangers unleash after a road rage incident, is an accomplished comedian, with at least three specials streaming on Netflix. Her fourth special, called Single Lady, is set to drop shortly, which will have her talk about her experience of dating after a divorce, single parenting, etc.

Ali Wong Single Lady will be available on October 8. Described as raunchy, the special will have her discuss the highs, lows and surprises of dating as a newly-single woman. Single Lady, which Wong directed and serves as executive producer as well, was filmed as part of her residency at The Wiltern in Los Angeles when she headlined Netflix Is A Joke Fest.
Her first special since her divorce from husband of a decade Justin Hakuta has Wong ditch her trademark animal print, but there’s no dearth of life advice. Wong, who is currently dating Barry star and fellow comedian Bill Hader, has been quoted as saying that she was single for a while after her split from Hakuta, with whom she shares 2 children. And that phase in her life is the source material of her new special.
Wong is one of seven standup comedians that Netflix will have new specials of on its platform. She will be joined by comedians Gabriel Fluffy Iglesias, Bert Kreischer, Deon Cole, Fortune Feimster, Jo Koy and Michelle Buteau.
While you are waiting for the new special to drop, if you are not familiar with Wong’s brand of comedy, all her earlier specials - Don Wong, Hard Knock Wife, and Baby Cobra – as well as her Emmy winning series Beef are available to stream on Netflix. Beef got Wong Emmy and Golden Globes wins as Best Actress, making her the first woman of Asian descent to achieve this.
