The Underbug, starring Ali Fazal is a a psychological thriller is set to have World Premiere at Slamdance Film Festival

Actor Ali Fazal, who is constantly balancing his acting career in Hindi as well as international projects is quite excited about his next film The Underbug which will be showcased at the prestigious Slamdance Film Festival.
Directed by Shujaat Saudagar The Underbug stars Ali Fazal and Hussain Dalal in lead roles.
According to the actor he was going through a tough time in the middle of the global pandemic in his personal life as well when he was shooting for the film; however, he is satisfied with the way the film panned out eventually.
Talking about the film, the actor who is known for delivering some of the finest performances in the celebrated Indian web series Mirzapur said, "It’s unlike any other film I have ever done in my career so far. The film was shot under confusing circumstances at a time in my life which was already a test of patience and emotional turmoil right in the middle of the pandemic. "
The actor also shared that one of the hardest parts of the shooting was gaining body weight for the character he played in the film because both the male protagonist in the film visually looks poles apart.
Ali said, "Yes it's harder to gain weight when you're fit. The script was a collaboration of sorts between the actors and the writers and our director. For that matter even our DOP whose eyes and lenses were totally in sync with the story we all were trying to tell".
The film has been officially selected for the upcoming edition of the Slamdance Film Festival which is set to take place Jan 20-26 in person in Salt Lake City and Park City, Utah and virtually between January 23 and January 29.
Ali in the recent past has acted in some of the prominent international films including Death on the Nile alongside Gal Galot, and Indian anthology on Netflix titled Ray, and Call My Agent: Bollywood. He will be seen in Vishal Bharadwaj's directorial Khufiya, Fukrey 3 and the Hollywood action film Kandahar.
