Ali Abbas Zafar is all set for his big actioner with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff soon. Recent reports suggest that the film is made on a budget of Rs. 300 crores. For the uninitiated, the project is speculated to be a remake of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, originally starring Govinda and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles.
Ali Abbas Zafar is currently caught up with various projects including Tiger 3. According to reports on Pinkvilla, the filmmaker is set to commence shooting for the two-hero action film with Akshay and Tiger after wrapping up Bloody Daddy with Shahid Kapoor.
The reports further mention that the movie is touted to be made on a big scale with a budget of Rs. 300 crores. A source told the portal that the actor’s fees make up for 60% of the budget and Rs. 100 crores would be invested in production of the film.
However, the project was not originally planned this way. Reportedly, the makers wanted to rope in ‘Brothers’ Akshay and Sidharth Malhotra for a movie titled The Burning Train. If that did not fall into place, they wanted to pair Akshay with Varun in a comedy genre film.
However, eventually Ali was brought on board for an action thriller with Akshay and Tiger. According to a birdie, the movie, which was initially going to be helmed by Ahmed Khan, is more on the lines of Bad Boys than Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
The project is produced by Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment. It will tentatively go on floors in late 2022 or early 2023, depending on the Omicron (COVID-19) and lockdown situation in India. The makers are likely to announce the project on Republic Day 2022.
According to reports, the film is heading for later 2023 release (likely to be Diwali). Tiger and Akshay are also likely to do a photoshoot for the announcement soon.
