With just a day of delay for the release of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, the wait has been slightly extended. The actioner, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, and he exudes confidence and ease. It is his third Eid offering, following the critically acclaimed Sultan (2016) and the commercially unsuccessful Bharat (2019).

Unique expectations and story importance

In an interview with Mid Day, the filmmaker revealed that people hold different expectations for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan than they do for a Salman Khan film. There have been a plethora of action flicks released in the past year. The plot is more important than the action, in his opinion. Ali firmly believes that their story is fresh and unlike anything else out there.

Even if Akshay and Tiger are the prototypical action heroes, the director insists that this doesn't diminish the originality of the film. He said that Tiger has been in the industry since his 2014 debut, while Akshay has been acting for 30 years. However, Ali is putting their abilities to use in a novel way that will captivate the audience. Even though it was an action film, he made Tiger Zinda Hai [2017] seem nothing like Ek Tha Tiger [2012]. Both films dealt with different themes; one dealt with romance and the other with a rescue operation. The protagonists of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan are two carefree individuals with a dark sense of humour who refuse to take life seriously, and the film's style is reminiscent of a comic book.

Stellar cast and chemistry beyond action

Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the antagonist, and Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F are the female leads. The action entertainer clearly relies on the chemistry between Akshay and Tiger. But the filmmaker doesn't see it that way.

He had the idea for a three-hero modern movie, with the current technological environment and the military forces' experiences serving as the backdrop. Two nice characters and an anti-hero make up the film's trio of heroes. The involvement of Prithviraj is significant, and even if the heroes are saving the day, the supervillain is the one causing all the mayhem. Tiger and Akshay are both very disciplined people who have a passion for martial arts, and he wasn't as fond of them as his action directors were. Two of their stars could pull off any stunt.
