Alappuzha Gymkhana character poster: Lukman Avaran to play Antony Joshua in Khalid Rahman’s film

Alappuzha Gymkhana, the upcoming sports comedy film directed by Khalid Rahman, is one of the most anticipated Malayalam films of 2025. The movie, which stars Premalu actor Naslen K Gafoor in the lead role, has been garnering the attention of audiences with its promising posters. Recently, the cast and crew members of Alappuzha Gymkhana took to their official social media handles and dropped the character poster of Lukman Avaran, who plays a pivotal role in the film.

Recently, director Khalid Rahman and the Alappuzha Gymkhana team took to their official social media handles and dropped Lukman Avaran’s character poster from the film. Interestingly, the talented actor is set to play the role of Antony Joshua, the coach, in the much-awaited film. “National champ, relentless coach—Antony Joshua is ready to shine! Introducing Lukman Avaran as Antony Joshua in ‘Alappuzha Gymkhana’, directed by Khalid Rahman,” reads the cast and crew’s social media post.

The Alappuzha Gymkhana first look poster, which was released a couple of days back, suggested that the Naslen K Gafoor starrer is ‘a knockout comedy film, which is set in the backdrop of amateur boxing. The promising first look poster which features leading man Naslen along with the supporting cast, including Lukman Avaran, Ganapathi S Poduval, and others suggests that Khalid Rahman’s film is going to be a complete treat for the Malayalam audiences, during the Vishu 2025 season.

Alappuzha Gymkhana release date

If the latest updates are to be believed, Alappuzha Gymkhana is gearing up to hit the theatres on April 11, 2025. The movie, which was originally slated to get a March 2025 release, was postponed to April to avoid the box office clash with the upcoming Mohanlal starrer L2 Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. Naslen K Gafoor, who became a household name with the massive success of Premalu, is set to break his boy-next-door image, with the Khalid Rahman film.
