Alappuzha Gymkhana actor Ganapathi to star in a horror comedy next?

Ganapathi S Poduval, who is currently busy with the promotion of his upcoming film, Alappuzha Gymkhana which stars Naslen K Gafoor in the lead role, has announced his next movie. The movie is titled Prakambanam and will also star Sagar Surya. The makers have also released the title poster, along with the official announcement. Read on to know the details... 

Ganapathi's Prakambanam announced

Alappuzha Gymkhana actor Ganapathi will be next seen in Prakambanam, which is touted to be a horror comedy. Sagar Surya and Ameen are also part of the film, which is penned and directed by Vijesh Panathur.  

The title poster features a men’s hostel, set against a spooky backdrop, with people seen running away from the scene. Though the makers have not divulged any other details of the film, the poster hints at a horror comedy. More details about the rest of the cast are also awaited.

Alappuzha Gymkhana release

Meanwhile, Naslen-led Alappuzha Gymkhana releases in theatres on April 10, 2025, clashing with Mammootty-starrer Bazooka and Basil Joseph’s Maranamass at the Vishu box office. Ganapathi also plays a pivotal role in Alappuzha Gymkhana , which narrates the tale of a bunch of teenagers who fail in the plus-two exams and decide to compete in state-level boxing competitions to secure admission at a college in Alappuzha. The sports comedy, helmed by Thallumaala director Khalid Rahman, also features Lukman Avaran in a key role.

Ganapathi’s movies

Ganapathi entered Malayalam cinema has a child artiste and is still remembered for his role in Vinodayathra, directed by Sathyan Anthikkad. He also appeared in a key role in Mammootty-starrer Pranchiyettan & The Saint. More recently, he starred in Jan.E.Man, which he also co-wrote, and Manjummel Boys, among several others. Both of which were directed by his brother Chidambaram.
