Akshaya Tritiya 2023: I am a big foodie, but as an actor, I feel it's really important to stay fit, says Kashika Kapoor

After having impressed everyone with her acting skills in Voot's ‘The Vibe Hunters’, Kashika Kapoor is now all set to impress everyone yet again with ‘Ayushmati Geeta Matric Pass’. The actress spoke to OTTplay on the occasion of ‘Akshaya Tritiya’.

Hi Kashika! What does ‘Akshaya Tritiya’ mean to you?
For me, ‘Akshaya Tritiya’ means worshipping goddess Lakshmi and Vishnu and, of course, buying gold.

Since when did you start celebrating the festival?
I come from a very religious family. So, ever since I can remember, we have been celebrating ‘Akshaya Tritiya’ from my childhood itself.

How are you planning to celebrate ‘Akshaya Tritiya’ this year?
At home with my family.

Of all these years of celebrating ‘Akshaya Tritiya’, which year had been the most memorable for you and why?
Every year is special, but I believe this year will be the most memorable as I am making my Bollywood debut.

Do you think that, over the years the spirit and concept of ‘Akshay Trithiya’ has changed?
No, I think people still celebrate the festivities with the same spirit and grandeur.

The general concept/ tradition of ‘Akshay Trithiya’ states that you need to buy gold on that day, as it’s considered extremely auspicious. Will you buy gold?
Yes, we will for sure buy some gold as it's considered very auspicious.

Are you well versed with the traditional mantra during ‘Akshay Trithiya’? Will you be doing the pooja yourself for ‘Akshay Trithiya’ or are you planning to hire a pandit ji to do the same?
My dad will be performing the pooja.

What’s going to be your dress code on the day of ‘Akshaya Tritiya’? What will you wear?
I will definitely opt for a traditional look. Festivities for me means getting to wear an ethnic outfit. So, yes... I would definitely go for a kurta or suit.

And towards evening, will you slip into partywear, or is it going to be the traditional attire for you the whole day?
It's going to be traditional attire the whole day yaar!

The occasion of ‘Akshay Trithiya’ is always synonymous with gold. Can you name the three people in your life whom you consider ‘GOLD’?
Definitely my mom, dad and my sister.

‘Akshaya Tritiya’ coincides with the auspicious festival of Eid. What are your plans for your tummy? Are you going to have your tummy have its way through ‘Akshaya Tritiya’s sweets as well as Eid’s Sheer kurma and other delicacies? Or are you planning to eat everything in moderation as looking good and looking fit is the call of your profession?
As all my fans know, I am a big foodie, but as an actor, I feel it's really important to stay fit, so I plan to eat everything in moderation.

On a professional front, tell us as to what is keeping you busy these days?
I am busy with my film ‘Ayushmati Geeta Matric Pass’.
