January 2025 has turned out to be a very busy month for Hindi cinema, with new films releasing every Friday of the month. As we approach the second last Friday, we are inching closer to the release of an Akshay Kumar starrer, which will be his first film of the year. Sky Force, marking Veer Pahariya’s debut, is set to launch on the big screen on January 24, and the buzz around it is quite high. As the release date nears, more details about the movie are emerging, including the CBFC rating and runtime.
Starring Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur as the lead, Sky Force is an action drama centered around the Air Force directed by Sandeep Kewlani. The recently released trailer received a positive response, and the makers are ensuring the buzz around the film continues. Produced by Dinesh Vijan, Amar Kaushik, and Jyoti Deshpande, the movie has been given a UA 13+ rating by the CBFC, which is expected to benefit its reach.
The runtime of Sky Force has also been revealed, and it stands at a surprisingly short 125 minutes (2 hours and 5 minutes), making it potentially the shortest Akshay Kumar movie in years. However, the makers have not officially confirmed this detail.
Meanwhile, the film made headlines recently when the Sky Force team visited the Bigg Boss Season 18 finale set to promote the movie. Reports stated that Akshay Kumar, known for his punctuality, arrived on time but had to leave after waiting an hour for Salman Khan, who was late to the shoot.
“Being as punctual as he is, Akshay turned up on the set for his shoot at the scheduled time, around 2:15 pm. But Salman hadn't arrived by then. Akshay waited an hour for Salman to come but had a trial screening of Jolly LLB 3 in his schedule. Thus, after waiting for an hour, Akshay left without shooting for the show,” a source told HT City. Several calls were reportedly made to Akshay, requesting him to return, but he refused.
Later, during the episode, Salman Khan clarified the situation, saying, "Akki (Akshay Kumar) is also in the film. He got a little late, and he had to leave for another function, so he left."
Sky Force is set to hit the big screens on January 24, 2025. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
