The most recent film, OMG 2, starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam, has received positive reviews from both critics and viewers. The film talks about the taboo topic of sex education and its inclusion in the academic program. The movie had difficulties getting the censor certificate because of its delicate plot, which included themes like God and religion. Later, it was approved without any changes, but the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) gave it an adult rating. Akshay Kumar has now voiced his unhappiness with the situation.

Akshay Kumar recently visited the audience watching OMG 2 at a Mumbai theater. After the movie, he expressed his disappointment in the movie's A rating. When people applauded Akshay and the movie after the screening, the actor responded with a sarcastic jab at the CBFC, "Kamaal ki baat bataun, pehli adult film hai jo teenagers ke liye bani hai (The funny thing is that this is the first adult film which is made for teenagers)."

The actor also praised the audience for attending the movie in such big numbers. On Saturday, August 12, a video with the description "Happy for Akki that OMG 2 is going to be successful but man you can tell by his voice he is extremely sad about the unjustified A rating. This film would be making so much more if it had been rated U/A." was posted on the social networking site Reddit's Bolly Blinds N Gossip subreddit.

The sequel to the popular movie Oh My God, which starred Paresh Rawal and was released in 2012, is titled OMG 2. It is directed by Amit Rai. Akshay plays Lord Shiva in the second film, while Pankaj Tripathi plays a worried father who defends his son after he has a horrible event at school. He faces up against Yami Gautam, an attorney, in court. The film is facing a tough competition at the box office with Sunny Deol-Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2.
