Raksha Bandhan will have its digital premiere on ZEE5 after nearly two months since its theatrical release. On the occasion of Dussehra, which is October 5, the Akshay Kumar starrer will start streaming on the leading OTT platform. Interestingly, you can watch Raksha Bandhan on the OTTplay App too. Ahead of its OTT premiere, Akshay gave a major reason to watch the film.

When asked what advice he would give to people who hadn't caught up with Raksha Bandhan on the big screen, the actor stated, "For those who haven’t watched Raksha Bandhan yet, all I have to say is that in my career spanning over 30 years, as per me, this is my best film till date. It is my most honest performance and I hope the audience likes it."

Furthermore, Akshay was also asked to convey a message to the brothers in the house. The actor said, "My message is not for just brothers but every parent and family member. Please educate the women in your house, see where their interests lie, be it studies, sports, or arts, nurture them, and empower them. That is the best and biggest gift you can give them."

Raksha Bandhan also features Bhumi Pednekar, Sadia Khateeb, Deepika Khanna, Smrithi Srikanth, and Sahejmeen Kaur in prominent roles, and Amardeep Chahal, Seema Pahwa, Neeraj Sood, Abhilash Thapliyal, and Manu Rishi Chaddha in supporting roles. It was written by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon and directed by Aanand L. Rai.

The story follows Lala Kedarnath, the oldest and only sibling of four sisters, who makes a pledge to his elderly mother on her deathbed that he will not get married until he has successfully placed his sisters in suitable marriages. What comes next is Lala's laborious efforts to raise the money for his sisters' weddings while overcoming personal obstacles and maintaining his family's honour. However, Lala's duty to his sisters acts as a significant barrier to the development of his romance with Sapna (Bhumi Pednekar).

Raksha Bandhan was released in theatres on August 11, 2022.
