Things were looking up for Sunny Deol after his latest film, Gadar 2, recorded good numbers at the box office. But there was reason for the actor to worry after his Juhu house was claimed to be on lease by the Bank of Baroda. This was followed by reports that Akshay Kumar was helping Sunny to pay off his loan.

Now, Akshay’s spokesperson has claimed that these reports are false. The bank has now withdrawn that statement about e-auctioning the house, claiming that it was due to a glitch.

Sunny Deol and his Bank of Baroda woes

The Bank of Baroda had recently issued a statement claiming that Sunny’s Juhu house will be e-auctioned as the actor had not repaid a loan amount of Rs 56 crore.

After the news went viral, a report by Bollywood Hungama claimed that Akshay was helping Sunny pay back the loan. The report said, “As part of the deal, Sunny Deol will then repay the loan to Akshay Kumar in a stipulated time.”

The entertainment portal claimed that Akshay offered Sunny Rs 30-40 crore so that he could pay back the loan. Responding to the claim, Akshay’s spokesperson said, “All such claims are absolutely untrue”.

Bank of Baroda resolves the issue

On the other hand, the bank has resolved the issue saying that no auction will be held for Sunny’s Juhu home, claiming that it was "a glitch in the system”. “The sale notice in respect to Mr Ajay Sing Deol, alias Mr Sunny Deol, stands withdrawn due to technical reasons,” read a statement by the Bank of Baroda.

Sunny Deol and Akshay Kumar’s box office successes

Meanwhile, Sunny is currently basking in the success of his blockbuster film Gadar 2, which has joined the Rs 300-crore club. It is speculated to cross the Rs 400-crore mark. Akshay, on the other hand, is also receiving praise for his film, OMG 2, alongside Pankaj Tripathi.
