It is a deeply hurtful day for Indians across the country. A video has surfaced on social media wherein two women were allegedly paraded naked on the streets of Manipur after reportedly being gangraped by culprits. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with the country’s Opposition parties and celebrities from the film industry have condemned such a horrific incident.

Today morning, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar expressed that he feels deeply shaken to know about the incident and demanded a harsh punishment against the culprits. “Shaken, disgusted to see the video of violence against women in Manipur. I hope the culprits get such a harsh punishment that no one ever thinks of doing a horrifying thing like this again,” tweeted Kumar today.

Popular Bollywood actress Kiara Advani, who rose to fame after featuring in 2021 patriotic film, Shershaah, too felt deeply disturbed upon knowing the news and demanded a severe punishment against the culprits.

“The video of violence against women in Manipur is horrifying and has shaken me to the core. I pray the women get justice at the earliest. Those responsible must face the most SEVERE punishment they deserve,” tweeted Kiara Advani.

Popular actor Riteish Deshmukh, best known for his roles in Housefull series, too felt anguished about violence against women in Manipur. “Deeply disturbed with the visuals of the atrocities against the women in Manipur… I am seething with anger… no man should go unpunished for such crime. Attack on the dignity of a woman is an attack on humanity itself,” tweeted Deshmukh.

Popular actor Sonu Sood commented on the horrific news and said, “Manipur video has shaken everyone’s soul. It was humanity that was paraded... not the women.” He attached heart-broken emoticons in the post as well.

On this burning issue, the Indian government has assured that justice will be served soon and they will make sure that the culprits behind the horrific incident get punished.
