Just last week, it was reported that John Abraham and Sharvari-starring Vedaa, directed by Nikkhil Advani, is slated to release on August 15, 2024, on Independence Day. Pushpa 2: The Rule, the sequel to Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil's 2021 blockbuster, will clash with the film. Now, Akshay Kumar has also jumped on the bandwagon with his upcoming film, Khel Khel Mein, scheduled for release on August 15.

Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein joins the Independence Day race

T-Series' social media pages confirmed the news of the Mudassar Aziz-directed film's Independence Day release. Along with Akshay, the out-and-out comedy film also stars Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal in the lead roles.

Check out the announcement below:

According to the makers, by providing an extraordinary emotional roller coaster, Khel Khel Mein hopes to reimagine the comedy-drama genre. They promise that the upcoming cinematic treat is sure to split viewers and leave them wanting more.

Reunions in Khel Khel Mein

In this film, Fardeen reunites with Aziz after Dulha Mil Gaya, which was the latter's directorial debut. On the other hand, Akshay is reuniting with Taapsee after Naam Shabana and Mission Mangal, while he is also working with Vaani for the second time after Bell Bottom

Meanwhile, the latest reports indicate a delay in Pushpa 2, albeit without confirmation. According to a report from Telugu 360, the crew originally expected to complete filming on Pushpa 2: The Rule by the end of June, but they may end up needing an extra month.

Exciting plot and intense action in Vedaa

On the other hand, according to reports, the film Vedaa, which stars John, Sharvari, Abhishek Banerjee, and Tamannaah Bhatia, has an exciting plot with thrilling stunts and intense action. For John and Nikkhil, Vedaa is their third joint venture. They've collaborated on projects like Salaam-e-Ishq and Batla House.

Now, we have to wait and watch to see if either Khel Khel Mein, Pushpa 2: The Rule, or Vedaa will be changing their release dates, or if it will be a big star-studded clash at the box office this Independence Day.
