Akhil Marar to join hands with Joju George for a new film?

Lately, Joju George has been cementing his position as a reliable actor in the Malayalam film industry. Now the latest news is that Joju is likely to foray into script writing too. If rumours are to be believed, the actor will be penning a movie script for the Malayalam Bigg Boss contestants. The upcoming film will feature Sagar Surya and Junaiz as the lead actors, alongside Shiju and Joju himself.

There are also speculations about Joju joining hands with Akhil Marar, the current Malayalam Bigg Boss winner, for a project. The movie, titled Omana, looks to explore the humorous side of Joju, after films like Rajadhiraja and Pullipulikalum Aattinkuttiyum. The script of the movie is co-written by Shiju along with Akhil. The latter announced the project during an event after winning the Bigg Boss title. He said the plot of Omana revolves around the happenings in his village. Akhil had previously directed Oru Thathvika Avalokanam, featuring Joju George in the lead. It was a political satire that couldn’t perform well at the box office.

Meanwhile, Joju is shooting for his new project Antony. Helmed by Joshiy, after Paappan, Antony is touted as an investigative thriller. The movie also marks the reunion of Porinju Mariyam Jose’s cast. Along with Joju, the movie features Kalyani Priyadarshan, Nyla Usha, Chemban Vinod Jose and Vijayaraghavan. The first-look motion poster featured Joju and Kalyani donning jerseys. There were rumours about Joju shedding a lot of weight for the film.

Previously, Joju had garnered a lot of appreciation for his performance in films like Thuramukham and Iratta, even though these films didn’t do well at the box office. The role of twins that he essayed in the psychological thriller Iratta is one of his most intense performances in his career. AK Sajan’s Pulimada is another upcoming release of Joju, featuring Aishwarya Rajesh as the female lead.
