Happy Birthday Akshay Kumar! One of the most influential and highest-paid actors in Bollywood is celebrating his 56th birthday today. Notably, he has appeared in over 150 films till date and his exceptional contributions to the entertainment industry were recognized by the Indian government in 2009 when he was conferred with the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian honour in the country.

On his special day, he received a heartfelt birthday wish from his best friend in Bollywood, actor Ajay Devgn. Expressing the excitement on the occasion in a funny way, Ajay Devgn on microblogging site X wrote, “Kabhi helicopter se latak ke, kabhi coal mine mein ghuske... If you are in need of rescue, contact @akshaykumar. Wishing you success for all your missions this year brother. Happy Birthday!”

For those who cannot crack the joke, here’s a hint for you. Ajay and Akshay have been a part of Rohit Shetty's directorial Sooryavanshi. In this project, Akshay and Ajay’s helicopter scene was appreciated by critics globally. Thus, Ajay made a helicopter reference.

For the coal mine reference, Ajay took inspiration from Akshay’s upcoming movie ‘Mission Raniganj’. It is loosely based on the real-life story set in 1989 in the Raniganj Coalfields when 65 miners get stuck in a mine after an unforeseen downpour.

Interestingly, Ajay and Akshay have featured in titular roles, together, in several Bollywood films so far including Sooryavanshi, Singham, Simmba, Himmatwala, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, Suhaag, Hey Bro, Insaan and Khakee.

How is Akshay Kumar celebrating his special day?

Beginning the joyous day, Akshay paid a quick visit to Mahakaleshwar Temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain city today morning. At the holy site, Akshay was seen in a traditional saffron attire with a clean shaved look. Coincidentally, he even met famous Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan in the temple premises and offered prayers to the deity together.
