Ajay Devgn revealed his upcoming project alongside Neeraj Pandey on Monday. The film marks the first outing of Ajay and Neeraj on the big screen together.
The Golmaal actor posted a note on his account on social media with the statement, "@neerajpofficial and I are going to start a film together soon. And, this one will be released worldwide in cinemas on June 16, 2023."
Critics have praised Neeraj Pandey's work on movies including A Wednesday, Special 26, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Baby, and Aiyaary. Details concerning the project have not been disclosed further.
Ajay Devgn's next appearance will be in the forthcoming thriller Drishyam 2 with Tabu and Akshaye Khanna. The Abhishek Pathak-directed movie is scheduled to open in theatres on November 18, 2022. The Hindi version, which had Ajay in the lead role, was a remake of the 2013 Malayalam film of the same name, which starred Mohanlal. Director Nishikant Kamat, who received a National Award for his work, passed away in 2020 at the age of 50.
Alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh, he will also appear in the upcoming comedy Thank God, which is set to open in theatres on October 25, 2022. The movie will compete fiercely with Ram Setu, starring Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Nushratt Bharrucha.
In addition, he will be directing Bholaa and Boney Kapoor's sports-themed period piece Maidaan, both of which will be released on February 17, 2022. Tabu will appear in Bhola alongside Ajay.
Neeraj's last outing as a director was the Disney+ Hotstar series, Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story, featuring Kay Kay Menon, which premiered in 2021. The filmmaker was also one of the producers and writers of the Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan starrer, Vikram Vedha. The film is directed by the duo of Pushkar and Gayatri.
