Mayaanadhi and Varathan actress Aishwarya Lekshmi’s Archana 31 Not Out, her first movie as the central character, is all set to drop on Manorama Max soon.
The Akhil Anilkumar directorial, which released in theatres in February, is a family entertainer that also has Ramesh Pisharody, Indrans, Hakkim Shajahan, Rajesh Madhavan and Lukman Avaran in supporting roles. The film marked the feature-film directorial debut of Akhil, who had also helmed the Rajisha Vijayan segment, Geethu Unchained, in Sony LIV’s Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil.
Archana 31 Not Out has Aishwarya playing the role of a 28-year-old school teacher, who shoulders the financial burden of her family and is also under pressure to get married. She has already met 30 prospective grooms but finds her match in the 31stwhen she is down on luck and loses her job. On the eve of her wedding, however, a shocking news shakes her up. How she deals with this and the wedding next day form the plot.
The movie will release on Manorama Max on March 26. Though the film received mixed reviews, Aishwarya’s performance and the climax of the movie was lauded. Archana 31 Not Out is also the third wedding drama in Malayalam to come out in the past few months – after Senna Hegde’s Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam, which is streaming on Sony LIV, and Arun Vaiga’s Upacharapoorvam Gunda Jayan, which has Saiju Kurup, Siju Wilson and Shabareesh Varma in the lead.
Meanwhile, Aishwarya, who was also part of Amazon Prime Video’s Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadhaa, is currently awaiting the release on Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan. The actress has also wrapped up shooting for Ranam director Nirmal Sahadev’s Kumari in February. The period mythological horror movie also has Giju Joseph, Tanvi Ram and Surabhi Lakshmi in pivotal roles.
