Aishwarya Lekshmi also said that she had enjoyed reading the comic version of Minnal Murali

For a lot of people in the Malayalam film industry, it was a matter of pride when the team of Minnal Murali had announced that actor Tovino Thomas and director Basil Joseph’s superhero will be seen in Tinkle Comics and will also make its debut at 2023 Comic-Con International at San Deigo. The latest to share the joy with the team is Varathan and Ammu actress Aishwarya Lekshmi.
The Malayalam actress took to her social media page, shortly after Minnal Murali’s producer Sophia Paul had announced that the production team has tied up with Amar Chithra Katha and Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media.
“A Malayalam movie at Comic Con! Guessing one of the firsts from India as well! Congratulations,” she wrote, lauding the teams for the collaboration. The actress also gave a special shout out to the creative team involved in the initial marketing of the comic version of the Netflix release.
“Have enjoyed the comic version of #MM ever since the promotions in newspapers,” she wrote, referring to the comic strips of Minnal Murali that were carried in a vernacular daily ahead of the film’s release. Hailing the creative agency, she wrote, “From that to this! Guess the universe manifested this! Hugely proud and happy.”
Incidentally, Aishwarya had recently played a character from a literary work too. The actress had essayed the role of Poonguzhali in Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan films that were based on Kalki Krishamoorthy’s novel.

Meanwhile, Minnal Murali’s announcement at the global event in San Diego comes along with updates of Prabhas and Deepika Padukone’s Project K as well as Rana Daggubati’s Hiranyakashyap, which is based on the comics from Amar Chithra Katha. Rana, who was last seen in the Netflix series Rana Naidu, is set to play the demon king in the upcoming mythological film based on that will be scripted by director Trivikram. He will also produce the Sony LIV web series, Lords of Deccan that is based on Anirudh Kanisetti’s eponymous book.
