Directed by Anup, this Malayalam romantic comedy revolves around Shefeek (Unni Mukundan), who is an NRI hailing from an ordinary family. He often finds joy in helping others and is known to have a heart of gold. When he is returning from Dubai to marry his childhood lover (Divya Pillai), he runs into numerous hurdles along the way. Unni Mukundan, Divya Pillai, Bala, Shaheen Siddique and Athmiya Rajan form the lead cast in this film.

Makal (2022)

This family drama, starring Jayaram and Meera Jasmine, was directed by popular Malayalam director Sathyan Anthikad. The film follows a father as he tries to reconnect with his daughter upon returning home after working abroad for several years. The film not only marks Jayaram’s return to Mollywood after 3 years, but also the comeback of Meera Jasmine after a hiatus of 6 years. Although the performance of the lead actors was praised, the film received mixed reactions for its poor writing and climax.

Priyan Ottathilanu (2022)

Priyan Ottathilanu was directed by Antony Sony and featured Sharafudheen, Nyla Usha and Aparna Das in the lead roles. The movie follows Priyan, a young homoeopathy doctor, who faces challenges due to hyperactivity and ADHD as he gets entangled in a series of coincidental events. Megastar Mammootty appears as himself in a cameo appearance in the film. The film received a positive response upon its release and was praised for Sharafudheen’s realistic performance.

Kallan D’Souza (2022)

This action-comedy film, headlined by Soubin Shahir, was the spin-off of the 2015 adventure drama Charlie and is based on Soubin’s character Kallan D’Souza from the Dulquer Salmaan-starrer. The plot revolves around Kallan D'Souza, a thief who has successfully evaded getting caught. However, he runs into trouble with the local CI and things go awry in more ways than one. The film unfortunately failed to impress the audience, unlike Charlie. However, it's good for a one-time watch, if you enjoyed Soubin’s performance from the original film!

Meow (2021)

Directed by Lal Jose, this family drama, featuring Soubin Shahir and Mamta Mohandas in the lead, narrates the story of a married couple moving to Dubai with their kids hoping for a better life. But things go awry when the wife decides to leave her husband over a disagreement. What happens next forms the crux of the film. Despite being criticised for its weak script, the film was hailed for its simple and conventional way of narration.
