Telugu streaming platform aha is looking to up its game with the acquisition of big releases featuring prominent faces. While Krack, Naandhi and Sulthan were the only biggies that they managed to stream in the first half of 2021, aha has an impressive lineup for the second half. As part of the platform's latest Superhits campaign, aha has officially announced that they have bagged the post streaming rights for Naga Shaurya's archery-based drama Lakshya, Sekhar Kammula's Love Story featuring Naga Chaitanya, Sai Pallavi and Bommarillu Bhaskar's rom-com Most Eligible Bachelor starring Akhil Akkineni and Pooja Hegde.
Among the above-mentioned films, it's clear that Love Story and Most Eligible Bachelor will be the platform's best chance to multiply its subscriber count. Though there are reports that Most Eligible Bachelor may release directly on OTT, there's no official confirmation from the makers or any digital platform yet. Realising that it'll take time before the audience has the confidence to flock to theatres, aha is going berserk with its Superhits campaign in terms of marketing with several hoardings across Hyderabad in addition to digital promotions.
aha is opting for an aggressive approach to market their content based on star value and it's also necessary given a big brand like Sony LIV also may spread its wings in the Telugu market soon. The platform has two major releases for the July 9 weekend, including Vikramarkudu (the dubbed version of Tamil film Junga) starring Vijay Sethupathi and Sayyeshaa in the lead besides Super Deluxe (also) featuring Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha, Ramya Krishna and Fahadh Faasil. The last weekend was a marathon of sorts for the platform with the release of over 15 movies (2 new and 13 old).
