Akhil Akkineni is pushing all his limits, physically and mentally, to give his best for his spy thriller Agent. The actor has undergone an immense makeover for the ambitious project directed by Surender Reddy, written by Vakkantham Vamsi. While there were two release dates announced for Agent - August 2022, Sankranthi 2023, the team decided to postpone the release owing to a few delays.
On the New Year day, the makers announced that the film will release in summer 2023 across five languages - Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. An action-packed glimpse, showcasing the scale and lavishness of the film featuring a ferocious Akhil Akkineni, was launched as well. The glimpse confirmed that a key schedule, where a high-voltage sequence was filmed, was wrapped recently.
The action directors, Surender Reddy and cinematographer Rasool Ellore are involved in intense discussions in the video. But for his debut with Akhil, Akhil Akkineni has starred mostly in feel-good romances to date and it looks like Agent is all set to capture a different dimension of the star. Ramabrahmam Sunkara is bankrolling the film under AK Entertainments and Surender 2 Cinema.
Sakshi Vaidya makes her Telugu debut with Agent that also features Malayalam star Mammotty in a crucial role. Presented by Anil Sunkara, the film has music by Hip Hop Thamizha and will be edited by Navin Nooli. The crew also comprises art director Avinash Kolla and stunt choreographers Vijay, Stun Shiva. Kishore Garikapati is the executive producer and Ajay Sunkara, Pathi Deepa Reddy are the co-producers respectively.
While Surender Reddy’s last release was the patriotic saga Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Akhil scored a hit with Most Eligible Bachelor in 2021. Hip Hop Thamizha had also associated with Surender Reddy for the actioner Dhruva, the Telugu remake of Jayam Ravi’s Thani Oruvan.
