The world has been busy tracking the drama around the naming of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s new Disney+ show, which has gone through almost four title changes. Yes, we are talking about the show with Agatha Harkness at the centre, now titled (finally) Agatha All Along. A show set in the aftermath of WandaVision, which starred Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, Agatha All Along, is based on what happens to Agatha Harkness afterward. While the trailer was spooky and managed to raise our intrigue for the show, one thing that has caught our attention the most is Joe Locke, who is playing a rather interesting character. We are curious to know more about that.
Who Is Teen In Agatha All Along?
For the longest time, the biggest rumor about Agatha All Along has been that the show will feature Billy Kaplan, aka Billy Maximoff, aka the young Avenger Wiccan. If you are still not sure who that is, he is the son of Wanda Maximoff who has passed away as per the Agatha All Along trailer. Now there is a high possibility, and many are even convinced, that Joe Locke plays Wiccan in the MCU show. However, the makers haven't confirmed this yet, so we are addressing his character as the Teen. It turns out the actor is now dropping details on who he is in the show. Agatha All Along has been described as a dark comedy about witches by Joe Locke, as per Comic Book Movie. The storyline for Teen is quite impressive because he is the one who will free Agatha from the spell that was put on her by the Scarlet Witch at the end of WandaVision. The twist ends up triggering the show, and the Teen convinces Agatha to take her on the journey down the Witches’ Road. "We gather a coven and a very unlikely group of women and me — which is my life in general — get on the Witches’ Road," Locke adds. "Then magic, fun, and mystery prevail."
Joe Locke also went on to talk about the show as a whole and said Agatha All Along is unlike any Marvel Cinematic Universe project you have ever seen. Promising many twists and turns, he said, "In the same way WandaVision goes through all these different subgenres of comedies, Agatha does that in a different way. It’s definitely darker. It’s actually a little bit scary, which is good. I think it’s a great start for a new journey within the MCU of exploring different types of characters that aren’t like Iron Man or Captain America."
What Is Teen’s Sexuality?
One of the biggest questions ever since the trailer dropped and people saw Joe Locke has been about his character's sexuality on the show. Joe has now confirmed that Teen is actually gay, and the makers have indeed handled it with lots of care. "It’s a new type of superhero, which I think is exciting. The way it’s explored in the show is very truthful and very positive," he confirms. "His sexuality is just one part of the character."
Agatha All Along is set to premiere on Disney+ on September 18. It stars Kathryn Hahn, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, Debra Jo Rupp, Patti LuPone, and Aubrey Plaza.
