Looks like all is not well between Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor and filmmaker Anees Bazmee. Reports suggest that blockbuster ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ director Anees Bazmee is on a hunt for a new Bollywood star for his double-role film after the Jab We Met star decided to not be a part of the project.
Shahid Kapoor and Anees Bazmee part ways on a project?
A report published on the news portal, Pinkvilla, today believes, “Anees Bazmee will be approaching new actors shortly. He is very confident in the comic elements in his script.”
The report also claims that “rumours claiming that Anees’s upcoming movie has been shelved are false and baseless.”
“Some media reports indicate that the film is shelved, however, it's confirmed that the film is happening, but with a new cast now,” claims the news report.
The day before today, reports claimed that Shahid Kapoor and Anees Bazmee parted ways on their double-role comedy due to “creative differences.”
The movie was ideally slated to go on floors this month. However, the project has been delayed until further notice.
Shahid Kapoor’s career front
2023 is a special year for actor Shahid Kapoor and his fans. Earlier this year, the 42-year-old actor made his OTT debut with the series, Farzi. Later, he featured in a titular role in Ali Abbas Zafar’s directorial Bloody Daddy which was released on JioCinema. Both these projects received great viewership online.
Soon, he will next star in an as-yet-untitled romantic comedy opposite a popular actress in Hindi cinema, Kriti Sanon. This Kriti Sanon starrer project will be released theatrically in December this year.
Anees Bazmee, on the other hand, gained widespread recognition by directing the top-grossing comedies including No Entry (in 2005), Welcome (in 2007), Singh Is Kinng (in 2008), Ready (in 2011), Welcome Back (in 2015), and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (in 2022).
