Director Anees Bazmee recently signed a major deal with Zee Studios and Echelon Productions for a bona fide commercial entertainer. While the announcement of the collaboration did not include the details of the project, Bazmee and the studio heads revealed that the film would be a 'larger-than-life' action-comedy that the Indian audiences have never seen before.
Now, as per the latest reports, Anees Bazmee is all set to make a superhero movie titled 5 Minute ka Superhero as part of the recent deal. As revealed to Pinkvilla by a source close to the development of the project, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 director is keen on dabbling with a completely new genre and a superhero comedy seems to have enticed him the most. The same source added that Anees Bazmee had the idea for the film for quite sometime and the script is currently in the works with the casting too waiting to be finalized. 5 Minute Ka Superhero is, however, the tentative title and the film will go on floors in early 2023 if things fall into place.
For obvious reasons, one is curious to learn more about the central cast of the superhero comedy and reportedly, Bazmee & co. are looking at finalizing the cast and crew by December. The film will be headlined by a young actor and the team will be divulge more details about the same shortly.
Anees Bazmee regained the status of a top-billed director following the unprecedented success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 earlier this year. The horror comedy stars Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu and collected close to Rs. 270 crores at the box office.
On the other hand, Anees Bazmee is slated to work on the much-awaited sequel project No Entry Mein Entry. With Salman Khan and Anil Kapoor reprising their roles from the 2005 hit and new cast members coming in, No Entry 2 has been in the offing for quite some time and the latest reports suggest that the project has now hit the strides and the makers are said to have also locked the script. However, the likelihood of the film going on floors anytime soon is still low at this point as Bazmee sets his focus on other projects. He is also expected to work with Varun Dhawan on a comedy entertainer.
