T-Series has acquired the rights to adapt the novel ‘The Tatas’ for the screen. The production house, along with Almight Motion Picture, have acquired the AV rights for the story. They are likely to adapt the novel into a web series, much like Jim Sarbh’s Rocket Boys.

T-Series made the announcement through their social media channel. "T-Series Films and Almighty Motion Picture are proud to have acquired the AV rights to the story of the legendary family that has been participation in nation-building for 3 generations," the caption for their post read.

‘The Tatas: How a family built a Business and a Nation’ is a novel penned by journalist Girish Kuber. The upcoming project will be adapted from the novel.

While the makers have not made an official announcement if the project will be a film or a series, Prabhleen Kaur Sandhu of Almighty Motion Picture had previously spilled the beans to Economic Times. He said that the show which he is making next will have at least three seasons.

He had said that the focus of the story is not on the contribution from Tatas to the community but how they helped build a nation, our nation, India. The Tatas are now a heritage, with Ratan Tata being India’s most loved industrialist today. He is best known for introducing Tata Nano for homes that could not afford buying a car because of the high prices. However, he too has a lineage and handles the businesses which were founded by his forefathers.

The Tatas have contributed to India’s development since 1858. Currently, the last seed of the Tatas, Ratan Tata, is the most loved businessman across India.
