Vikram's Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 released in theatres on Thursday after much delay and hassle. While the makers had shifted the release date from January to March earlier, the film faced financial troubles on the day of the release, with FDFS getting cancelled. Finally, Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 shows began as late as 5 pm on Thursday and is now running in cinemas near you.
Owing to the delays, the director of the film, SU Arun Kumar, had put out an apology video for shows getting cancelled. However, this did not go well with the fans, who pointed out how the producers have not sought any apology on their behalf for the issues caused from their side. To this, producer Shibu Thameens under HR Pictures backing the film, clarified and apologised in a social media post.
The first day of Veera Dheera Soora: Part 2 release met with untoward incidents after the first and matinee shows were cancelled across the globe, owing to a court order on stay of release. The case was filed by B4U Entertainment. This has affected the first day of the film, with shows getting cancelled.
SU Arun Kumar, who wrote and directed the film, put out an apology video, while there remained silence from the producer’s side. Many fans pointed this out. Following this, producer Shibu Thameens, under whose banner the film is produced, posted his apology on social media.
“Apologies to #Vikram sir #SUArunkumar the crew, distributors, Exhibitors, fans and entire audience for the delay in release,” he wrote. Further, he also clarified to “stop the gossips” that delays were not “due to PRODUCERS financial problem.”
“The OTT right holder (outright sale) couldn’t able to sell their rights before the theatrical release. To safe guard their investment, #VDS was stopped at last moment & renegotiated. Thanks to all who stepped in and supported whole heartedly esp,” Shibu added.
Headlined by Vikram, the film also stars Dushara Vijayan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, SJ Suryah and others. The film has music by GV Prakash Kumar, with Theni Eswar cranking the camera.
