Looks like the much-expected break is here for composer Thaman in Kollywood. Though the musician, who debuted as an actor with Shankar's Boys (streaming on Amazon Prime Video), has a few chartbuster albums under his belt, he is yet to have a dream run in Tamil unlike Tollywood where he has given back-to-back blockbuster albums for many big heroes.
He is already officially on board for his mentor Shankar's untitled project which has Ram Charan playing the lead. Though Thaman has composed for the actor's movies like Naayak (streaming on MX Player and YouTube) and Bruce Lee (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar and YouTube) in Telugu, this time it is special for him as the movie is made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
Similarly, it's just a matter of time before he officially signs Vijay's upcoming film which will have Vamshi Paidipally at the helm. Thaman was supposed to join AR Murugadoss' Sarkar (streaming on Netflix), but none other than AR Rahman replaced him. Recently, the composer himself said that he can't wait to start working on the movie which is expected to go on the floors around April 2022. He had earlier joined hands with Vamshi for Jr NTR's Brindavanam (streaming on Zee5).
As if this isn't enough he has also confirmed his presence in Sivakarthikeyan's next which is likely to be a bilingual which will have Anudeep of Jathi Ratnalu (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) fame wielding the megaphone. Tentatively titled SK 21, it is believed to go on floors after Siva completes Singapaathai. The Doctor actor wished the musician a happy birthday, to which the latter replied, "Brother @Siva_Kartikeyan thanks for the love. #Pinnnnrooommmmm #thattttrooommm #thukkuuroooomm #SK21 (sic)."
