After OMG 2, Akshay Kumar’s THIS film is in competition with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan on OTT

Akshay Kumar’s second OTT release is now in competition with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. His first movie OMG 2 was competing with Jawan not too long ago. Now, Akshay’s second movie from 2023 is in competition with SRK’s last release. This film has replaced Fukrey 3 from the list, as unveiled by Ormax Media. This week, it is for the week of December 1-7.

So, which Akshay Kumar film is it?

Akshay Kumar’s movie Mission Raniganj is now on OTT. The film released on Netflix and is now among top three. Mission Raniganj, based on a real-life story, is now the third most loved this week. The film is about Jaswant Singh Gill, who was an IIT engineer from Dhanbad that saved 65 miners at the Raniganj Coalfields back in 1989.

Replaces Fukrey 3, which had replaced Gadar 2

Mission Raniganj has made it to the list this week in place of Fukrey 3. Interestingly, Fukrey 3 had replaced Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 last week. Gadar 2 and Jawan were in competition back when they released in theatres and even after their OTT release, they were in close competition for the longest time. That is also when OMG 2 had made its entry to the list.

Jawan and Leo still most loved

Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan continues to not only be the top in terms of songs but also OTT releases. Chaleya is still the most loved track and the Atlee directorial continues to win on OTT as well. It is to be noted that Jawan is also the highest grossing film of the year.

Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay enjoy a similar fan following. In fact there are times when the latter is proven to have a bigger fanbase, at least in India. Thus, it is no surprise that Leo continues to fight for the top spot this week and is the second most loved film still.
