Vijai Bulganin isn’t new to Telugu cinema, as many would imagine; he has worked on films like Rendu Rella Aaru Sapthagiri Express, Vajra Kavachadhara Govinda and has composed for several music videos including Lollipop, Daare Leda, Yemaiyiundacho to name a few. However, he has finally grabbed projects that have tapped into his eclectic range as a musician. We’re talking about SonyLIV’s show Meet Cute and director Sai Rajesh’s romance Baby.
Meet Cute, a five-part anthology, just gave him the right variety as a composer and he came up with soothing melodies that seamlessly blended with the feel-good tales. It looks like, his next release, Baby, will be another cherry on his cake. The first single from the Anand Deverakonda, Vaishnavi Chaitanya and Viraj Ashwin starrer, O Rendu Prema Meghaalila, was launched yesterday and has opened to a fabulous response from film buffs and music enthusiasts.
O Rendu Prema Meghaalila was surprisingly a hit much before the release of the number; the brief portions of the song in Baby’s teaser were widely appreciated by viewers earlier. As a result, the response for the song doesn’t feel like a surprise. It’s a relief to see a talented singer like Sreerama Chandra get numbers that showcase his vocal depth, command over Telugu diction and experience.
Much like Inthandham in Sita Ramam, Vijai Bulganin uses the children’s voices (Veda Vagdevi, Harshita, Taniskha, Ujjwal, Anagha and Veekshith) effectively to lend a poetic effect to the song. The cinematography and the romance between teenagers belonging to a different era, contribute to the nostalgic vibe of O Rendu Prema Meghaalila. Anantha Sriram has always been at his best while dealing with romance and with the right composition, the lines are all the more magical. Lakshmi Meghana also makes a mark with her humming too.
Produced by SKN under Mass Movie Makers, Baby, is expected to release in early 2023.
