The success of Vishal’s Madha Gaja Raja, a much-delayed film which hit theatres after 12 years, has made fans question the release of Dhruva Natchathiram, a sleek spy action thriller helmed by Gautham Vasudev Menon.

Much like the Vishal-starrer film which saw the daylight after a decade, Dhruva Natchathiram starring Vikram in the lead role is a long-delayed film for almost eight years. The success and positive reception of Madha Gaja Raja has rose the expectations of Dhruva Natchathiram.

After Vishal’s Madha Gaja Raja, fans want Dhruva Natchathiram release

After 12 years of wait, Vishal and Sundar C’s film Madha Gaja Raja hit theatres on January 12 for Pongal. Surprisingly, the film became the Pongal winner and collected the most out of all other films and resonated with the audience.

Now, as fans celebrate the film’s success, they also demand the release of yet another much-delayed Tamil film, Dhruva Natchathiram. Starring Vikram in the lead role, the film is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and is a spy action thriller. Every time the film had announced a release date, it had been postponed, disappointing fans. An official release date for Dhruva Natchathiram is not yet confirmed.

Gautham Vasudev Menon: Suriya saying no to Dhruva Natchathiram was really upsetting for me

In a recent interview, Gautham Menon expressed his disappointment and upset over Suriya not doing Dhruva Nathathiram. The director said that the actor could have had faith in him, after the duo had given successes before.

“I don't think Suriya should have thought not taking Dhruva Natchathiram. He heard the script and we had discussions, but somewhere he did not pick it. He could have trusted the director who made Vaaranam Aayiram and Kaakha Kaakha,” the director had said.

Gautham Menon said he is inspired from the success of Madha Gaja Raja, and expressed his confidence that the film will not look dated at all.
