After Prithviraj Sukumaran and Roshan Mathew’s Kuruthi, the next Malayalam release on OTT during Onam season will be Indrans and Sreenath Bhasi’s #Home, which is directed by Rojin Thomas. As we had earlier reported, the movie will stream on Amazon Prime Video.

The makers along with Amazon Prime Video announced the film will be streaming on the OTT platform from August 19. The film revolves around a technologically-challenged father named Oliver (Indrans) who tries to remain close to his sons, played by Sreenath Bhasi and Naslen, who are constantly hooked to their mobile phones.

The light-hearted film told through humour will be Amazon Prime Video’s second Onam release. In a statement to the streamer, the film’s director Rojin, who earlier co-directed Philips and the Monkey and helmed the Manju Warrier-starrer Jo and the Boy, said, “Home is an attempt at depicting a much relevant topic in today’s times, the dynamics of a family that is unknowingly trapped in the artificial web in the ever-evolving digital age.”

Vijay Babu, who has backed the movie, was in fact one of the first producers in Mollywood to look at OTTs to release films after last year’s lockdown. He said that the characters have been weaved into the narrative beautifully, making #Home a perfect family entertainer for the festive season.

Apart from Indrans, Sreenath Bhasi and Naslen, the movie also has Vijay Babu, Manju Pillai, KPAC Lalitha, Aju Varghese, Anoop Menon and Maniyanpilla Raju in pivotal roles.

The feel-good entertainer also marks Indrans’ first lead character in an out-and-out commercial film for the first time. The movie has Rahul Subrahmanian as its composer while Neil D’Cunha has cranked the camera.

#Home, which is also scripted by Rojin, was extensively shot indoors after the lockdown rules were relaxed in Kerala last year. It was one of the first films to go on floors after the lockdown and the movie’s plot made it easier to shoot, in adherence to the COVID-19 restrictions.
