Kamal also recorded his conversation with the cast and crew of Manjummel Boys and shared it on the internet, giving a significant promotional boost to the Malayalam film. During the conversation, Kamal also recounted the challenges he faced while making his 1991 movie Guna.

For the initiated, Manjummel Boys shares a strong pop cultural connection with Guna. The film is majorly set against the backdrop of Guna cave, and the Kanmani Anbodu plays a significant role in making Manjummel Boys a big hit at the Tamil Nadu box office.
