Telugu superstar Jr NTR returned to India during the wee hours of Wednesday. He was given a hero's welcome as the members of the media swarmed around him to get his first reactions to the historic Oscar win of RRR . "The award is as heavy as our country," quipped Tarak when he was asked to share his experience of holding the Oscar award.

"And we did it… #Oscars95 #NaatuNaatu #RRRMovie Congratulations @mmkeeravaani Sir ji, Jakkanna @ssrajamouli , @boselyricist garu, the entire team and the nation," Tarak has tweeted along with a picture of himself with the Oscar trophy.

Tarak suggested that he was so stunned that he was not able to fully verbalise the experience of his latest movie bagging the coveted global award. "No matter how many times we talk about it, it's such an inexplicable experience. I feel great and I feel very proud of RRR. I'm very proud of our Telugu states. I'm feeling proud as an Indian. When Keeravani garu and Chandrabose garu were standing on the stage with the award I was very much happy," he added.

He noted that RRR was only able to achieve what it did due to the unprecedented support it received from movie-going audiences. "I'd like to thank every Indian for encouraging RRR. This award that RRR has won was only made possible by the pure admiration and blessings of the audience," he added.

Naatu Naatu from RRR won the Oscars in the best original category beating Hollywood heavyweights at the 95th edition of the Academy Awards. The film's dance performance was also recreated for the audiences at the Oscars and it received a standing ovation from everyone.

Composed by MM Keeravani, the song was written by Chandrabose. Written and directed by SS Rajamouli, the film starred Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles.
