Netflix is preparing to stream Crime Patrol on their platform, following CID. Anup Soni, the host, and the anthology series based on true crimes have become household names. Now, the series will begin streaming on Netflix from March 17, 2025. It has been available to stream on SonyLIV (OTTplay Premium) since the beginning.
Development and production
Sony Entertainment Television's Crime Patrol is developed by Subramanian S. Iyer. Optimystix Entertainment produced subsequent seasons, while Cinevistaas Limited developed and directed the first. Anshuman Kishore Singh served as the showrunner and Mumbai is the setting of the series. Each episode lasts 30 minutes in the first two seasons and 40 minutes in the third and later seasons.
Detailed investigations into high-profile incidents and their pursuit of the perpetrator are the focus of this reality crime series set in India. This series presents dramatised accounts of real-life crimes in India. On his show, Anup Soni narrates true stories of kidnapping, murder, and harassment and offers solutions to stop these crimes. These cases provide a window into the criminal world that the show uses to educate its audience.
Longevity and broadcast history
Launched on May 9, 2003, the show has remained on Indian television screens longer than any other reality crime series. Premiering on July 15, 2019, the show is now airing its fifth season. Low ratings led to the cancellation of the sixth season after its final episode aired on January 22, 2023. Starting on July 10, 2023, and ending on January 19, 2024, the seventh season aired. The dates of airing for the eighth season are 16 June–22 November 2024.
In addition to raising awareness about crime, the goal of Crime Patrol since June 2015 has been to provide assistance to the victims featured in the show. Apart from Anup Soni, Crime Patrol also saw Diwakar Pundir, Shakti Anand, Sakshi Tanwar, Anup Soni, Sanjeev Tyagi, Nissar Khan, Manish Raj Sharma, Sonali Kulkarni, Divyanka Tripathi, Ashutosh Rana, Renuka Shahane, and Nakuul Mehta as hosts.
