On November 3, Indranil Roychowdhury’s Chhotolok was dropped on Zee5. Ushasie Chakraborty, who became a household name after playing June Aunty in Sreemoyee, plays a pivotal role in the series that also features Daminee Benny Basu, Pratik Dutta, Ushasi Ray, Gaurav Chakrabarty, Priyanka Sarkar, Indrani Halder and others. The actress is now all set to make a comeback on television in Star Jalsha’s new serial, Tomader Rani.

In Sreemoyee, the actress plays a villainous character, June Aunty. The popularity of this character reached the sky and even today the character’s mannerisms are followed by the fans. This time, however, Ushasie will not play a negative character. In a promo, she is seen as a doctor.
Newcomers Arkaprabha and Abhika Malakar play the lead in the serial as Durjoy and Rani. The show also features veteran actor Shankar Chakraborty. The serial delves into the life of a heroine who gets married and pursues her medical education despite all odds. Rani is also pregnant with her child.
A recent promo video shows that Rani of the serial goes against the wishes of her in-law’s family and steps out to sit for her medical entrance exam. She passes out suddenly on the street. When she gathers consciousness, she meets Ushasie, who is seen in a doctor’s uniform.
Ushasie’s latest OTT work Chhotolok has been getting positive reviews. The actress plays the character of a high-profile chartered accountant, who eventually becomes one of the suspects in a murder.
