With the Lok Sabha 2024 elections just around the corner, all the political parties have started off with their electoral promotions and campaigns. And, to enhance the appeal among the common man, many political parties also seek the help of celebrities (mostly from the film industry) to help them with their party’s campaigning.

Amid such an atmosphere, there emerged a video in which Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan was seen appealing to the common public urging them to refrain from voting for a political party. In response to this video, Aamir Khan issued a clarification in which he mentioned very clearly that he has never endorsed any political party and that (such) deepfake videos were indeed alarming.

Many celebs have become victims of deepfake videos. The latest celeb is none other than Ranveer Singh, whose deepfake video shows the Gully Boy actor endorsing a political party. In no time, the deepfake video went viral. For the uninitiated, the deepfake video’s original video happens to be from his recent Varanasi visit, where he was seen recalling his divine experience.

Many Bollywood celebs have become victims of deepfake videos in the past

While Aamir Khan and Ranveer Singh’s deepfake videos have been doing the rounds of late ahead of the elections, many celebrities too had become the victims of the deepfake videos in the past. These celebrities include Nora Fatehi, who was seen endorsing a brand, which had its end-of-season sale. Later on, the actress clarified that it was indeed a fake video and that she had nothing to do with it.

Besides Nora Fatehi, actresses, including Kajol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Alia Bhatt among others had become victims of the deepfake videos.
