This noon, Dharma Productions officially unveiled the trailer of Ae Watan Mere Watan starring Sara Ali Khan in the lead role. The trailer showcases that Sara would be essaying the role of a woman broadcaster and her struggles during the pre-independence era in India. Though the makers have not officially announced yet, rumours claim that Sara will be portraying the life of Usha Mehta - India's noted woman newsreader and freedom fighter, on the screen.

Ae Watan Mere Watan can add a feather to Sara Ali Khan’s career graph, feel netizens. Her performance in the trailer is amazing with dialogue-delivery being on point. Some social media users also expressed that this movie should be released theatrically instead of on OTT.

Amazon Prime Video will officially release the film on its platform on March 21. Describing the trailer, the streaming giant has expressed the essence of the trailer. “In the midst of India's struggle for freedom in 1942, a brave young girl starts an underground radio station to spread the message of unity, setting off a thrilling chase with the British authorities during the Quit India movement,” read the caption of the trailer on YouTube.

A Dharmatic Entertainment production, the movie is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra and directed by Kannan Iyer.
